Someone Should Do Something
by Michael Cloud"Someone should do something about government overspending," said the talk show host.
"Someone should do something about our high taxes," said a man at a Tea Party rally.
"Someone should do something about trillion dollar federal deficits," said a TV pundit.
Each one is someone. Yet none stepped forward -- to do something.
Each of their listeners is someone. Yet none of the listeners stepped forward -- to do something.
Have you ever said "someone should do something" about a problem?
You are someone. Did you do something?
Wait a minute! You are only one person. What can one person do?
- One person can tell 10 or 20 or 50 others about the problem.
- One person can ask those who are interested or worried to each tell 10 or 20 or 50 others about it.
- One person can invite these people to a meeting to discuss the problem.
- One person can ask them for their email address or contact them on Facebook -- can continue talking about the problem.
- One person can ask them to each inform, invite, and involve 10 or 20 friends and acquaintances who are interested in or worried about the problem.
- One person can Google or Bing or other Search Engine possible solutions to the problem.
- One person can filter out the dumb suggestions -- and read and share the good suggestions with the people on your list.
All that someone -- that one person -- needs to KNOW is that something IS a problem. You don't need to be a firefighter to recognize that a building is burning.
All that someone needs to DO is tell others about the problem -- and ask for help. You don't need to be a swimmer to save a drowning man. All you need
to do is shout out that a man is drowning -- and ask nearby people, "Can you swim? Will you please help?"
Someone should do something to advance liberty?
You are someone. You can begin.
As Edward Everett Hale wrote, "I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do."
Here's the Problem... and the Solution
THERE'S TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT!!!
But you already knew that.
Encroachments on our liberty, misuse of our money, abuses of power; federal, state, county, city, school districts and other taxing districts; they're too big, too expensive, and too intrusive!!! No one can keep track of it all by themselves, let alone hold them all accountable.
We the People are the solution.
What if each layer of government and various issues were assigned a committee/task force/watchdog group (you get the idea) that shared their findings so everyone could hold government accountable? And what if the 58 precincts in Bannock County each had its own committee that developed a neighborhood network to share the relevant information that no one person can keep track of?
We the People would be empowered to govern again.
The Contacts below have got the organizational ball rolling. We truly need all patriots to select an area you'd like to learn more about and get involved.
