I just sent John McGee a letter reminding him that his renewed push for more senseless regulation will not be met with agreement by the more patriotic Americans.

As you may remember a bill was passed in the senate last year to ban texting while driving, it was then defeated in the House. State Senator John McGee has re-introduced the bill again this session. Senator Les Brock has also introduced a bill to ban talking on cell phones without a hands-free device while driving.

Given that repeated studies have shown that neither of these laws have reduced crashes or deaths anywhere that they have been implemented, I urge you to take the time to let these gentlemen know that there is no more room in our law books for such frivolous special interest regulations.

If you doubt what I'm saying, just punch the words "texting ban studies" or "cell phone ban studies" into Google or the search engine of your choice.
