Tax Freedom Day this year will occur later this year than it ever has, according to the Tax Foundation the tax freedom day adjusted for the deficit will occur on May 29, 2009

In another measure, Deficit Day, the day where the federal government runs out of tax revenue and begins living on borrowed money occurs earlier this year than it ever has in the history of the country.

Our current President and Congress will have spent all the money our government will collect in taxes this year as of 8:00 am EDT April 26, 2009. For the next month the taxpaying citizens of this country will be working for China.

It is true that the Obama administration inherited financial problems from the previous administration. However, at its worst the Bush administration always managed to make it through at least the first seven months of the year before going into debt.

Now remember this was the administration that was so evil because of deficit spending at least the last two years of which were approved by the overwhelming majority of individuals in congress right now. It was also involved in a war to protect the country.

We are still fighting that war. The only other time in history that we have had a situation where the deficit adjusted tax freedom day has come this late in the year was in 1945, and 1946 at the height of the Second World War.

What I find disturbing about all of this is that President Obama and Congress did not get this way because of a need to protect the country. They got this way because, they claim, of mistakes made in the previous administration.

Well believe this, the mistakes made in monitoring and/or regulating the financial institutions in this country go back way beyond the last 8 years or even the last 16 years. Congress has exceeded its authority and abdicated its responsibility in regards to the economy of this country for decades.

Both parties are at fault here, both parties have had control of Congress and the White House during the last few decades. At times each party has had control of both branches of government, and they did nothing.

Now the American People are being asked to finance debt on an unprecedented scale in order to keep businesses that are too big to fail in operation, while those businesses fail in spite of all the money the tax payers have poured into them.

Chrysler will cease to exist unless they enter into a forced partnership with Fiat, a company the Italian government bails out on a regular basis, are we hoping that if Chrysler needs bailing out a third time it will be at the expense of the Italians? Is our government hoping that if they slam two poorly run companies together they will get one mediocre run company?

For goodness sake, Chrysler could not even make it partnered with Dalmer Benz, a company that makes good cars. At least Dalmer Benz has a product Americans will buy. Now if they partner with Fiat they can try and dump cars on Americans that Italians won’t buy.

If Chrysler does not enter into this partnership and does go out of business what happens to the money the taxpayers dumped into Chrysler? Congress and the President made a real good business choice there didn’t they?

General Motors was given billions of dollars to prevent losing jobs and closing factories. Now in spite of the money they have been given, the Pontiac division will be closed, and 21,000 jobs will be lost. Well that was money well spent huh?

The people giving all this money away are the people who want to run your health care system. Maybe Fancy Nancy and Dirty Harry will pass another bill no one has time to read, and try to blame George Bush when they find problems with that one also.

It worked once dininit?
