The Tenth Amendment of the Constitution states: “Powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Upholding the Tenth Amendment is critical if we want to maintain our liberty in the face of unprecedented federal government control. Those of you that are outraged by the health care plan now being debated in the Senate have an opportunity to uphold the Tenth Amendment and, by so doing, maintain your freedom regardless of whether Congress passes the health care reform bill.

There is an organization called “Campaign for Liberty” that has created a petition for Idaho citizens to sign.  This petition calls on our state legislators to pass a bill (which is currently being written) to nullify all unconstitutional laws regarding health care in Idaho.  If this legislation passes, we as citizens of this state will not be required to follow any of the unconstitutional mandates of the federal government regarding our health care.

These petitions will be hand carried to Boise when the session opens in January, where they will be presented to our representatives.  Campaign for Liberty personnel will follow the voting record of our representatives and by April they will notify the people who gathered the signatures on how our representatives voted.  Those people will then contact the petition signers to let them know whether their representatives voted according to their wishes.

In this way, we can vote in the May primary against those who are not willing to stand up for our state sovereignty. Anyone interested in being a part of this state-wide campaign should visit the site www.sovereignIdaho.com to download a petition.  Now, there is something you can do to stand up for freedom.
