Hi everyone, I know I promised this yesterday afternoon but things got a
little hectic here.

We will  be having an organizational meeting on Friday September 24,
2010  at 7:00 pm in the Sunrise travel building. Those of you who
attended the 5000 year leap classes already know where that is for the
rest of us it is located at 414 Yellow Stone ave in Pocatello.

The city has responded to my open records request, they want 100 dollars
on deposit before they will begin searching for the records. I am going
to do some more research I think there are provisions for fee waivers
just like there are under the FOIA. But I am not sure. This is a
boondoggle to try to intimidate anyone who wants records. I will keep
you all informed.

Please come prepared to discuss the following things,

Information gathering,

who uses the green way, who is aware of the green way etc.

Petition gathering

we need to get petitions gathered showing the displeasure of the
citizens with the idea of using eminent domain.

Letter writing

we need everyone to write at least one letter to the paper and send
a copy of the letter to the city council. We also need everyone to
contact at least 5 other people to write letters

speaking at city council meetings

We need people to come to the city council meetings and speak
against the use of eminent domain on the green way during normal city
council meetings this will be done under the section of the agenda that
is for public comment on items not addressed by the agenda. If and when
this comes to a public hearing there will be a section of  the public
hearing that is for people opposed to the use of eminent domain.

We need to come up with a plan for addressing the County Commissioners
and making sure they will not allow this to spread to the county. I
believe that the use in the city is only the beginning, if they are
successful in the city they will quickly move to attack county land
owners the plan is to extend the green way along the river all the way
to Lava Hot Springs. While this is a laudable goal it must not be done
at the expense of land owners.

Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all
