POCATELLO -- There likely won't be any tea bags in the Portneuf River, but an upcoming protest will give a nod to the Boston Tea Party from more than two centuries ago.
A group of local residents is scheduled to gather in the City Hall parking lot on April 15 as part of a nationwide protest against the massive federal stimulus spending plan. The Tax Day Tea Party was initially inspired by Rick Santelli, on-air editor for CNBC.
According to the event's Web site, Santelli has accused both the White House and Congress of having a bankrupt liberal agenda, and he calls the stimulus plan flawed.
Following Santelli's rant in February, grassroots activists gathered in more than 40 U.S. cities to take part in the "Tea Party" protest, a move that the CNBC on-air editor called for during his broadcast...
